Amgen’s U.S.-booked air spend increased substantially in 2023 to $29 million, according to a BTN estimate. BTN projects the company will see another rise in 2024.
Amgen moved TMCs in 2022 to Amex GBT. It acquired Ireland-based biotech company Horizon Therapeutics in Oct. 2023 and integrated that company into its travel program. Amgen is also on the roster in 2024 to move to Concur’s new booking platform.
According to its 2023 ESG report, the company added more electric vehicles to its global fleet, with more than 480 on the road by the end of 2023. It also ramped up the use of hybrid vehicles in areas where the infrastructure to support EVs was not ready.
The company reported revenues of $28.2 billion in 2023, up 7 percent year-on-year, and projects total revenues of between $32.4 billion and $33.8 billion in 2024. Amgen has around 27,000 employees worldwide.
