2023 U.S.-Booked Air Volume: $30 million
Global medical technology company Becton Dickinson, which has more recently become known simply as BD, folded in a string of acquisitions in 2022 as part of its stated BD 2025 Strategy Driving Durable, Broad-Based Growth. The company now employs 70,000 globally, according to its website.
Such acquisitions may contribute to the jump in business travel spending in 2023 that landed it on BTN’s Corporate Travel 100. BTN estimates the company spent $30 million in U.S.-booked air travel in 2023. BD continued its growth-by-acquisition strategy in 2024, buying Critical Care from Edwards Lifesciences, the latter of which fell in this year’s BTN CT100 list to No. 98 from No. 75 last year.
BD reported $19.4 billion in revenues for the full year 2023, up nearly 5 percent from the prior year.
