Technology and consulting company Booz Allen had $30 million in U.S.-booked air volume in 2023, according to a BTN estimate.
The company's most recent fiscal year ended on March 31, 2024, at which time it employed about 34,200 people, up from 31,900 as of March 31, 2023. Its full-year revenue was nearly $10.7 billion, up from nearly $9.3 billion a year prior. Net income increased to $605.7 million in FY24 from $271.8 million in FY23.
Booz Allen's 2023 Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions were nearly 102,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, with business travel's portion at nearly 21,000. This compares with a reported 2022 Scope 3 total of 19,300 MTCO2e emissions, of which air travel accounted for 6,800, rental cars were 3,100 and hotel rooms were 1,600.
Scope 3 emissions increased from FY22 to FY23, reflecting increases in business travel and employee commuting as well as inclusion of additional categories and employee headcount growth. Emissions related to business travel increased 73 percent, reflecting the growth of in-person business activities following the Covid-19 pandemic; however, these emissions are 41 percent below Booz Allen’s FY20 totals. Additionally, Booz Allen has launched a Climate Impact Initiative that emphasizes engaging with the company’s value chain to reduce Scope 3 emissions.
In June 2024, the company announced it had acquired PAR Government Systems Corp. The deal will combine PGSC's edge technologies with Booz Allen's deep mission expertise and digital battlespace solutions to accelerate and transform warfighter technology on the front lines.
