BTN estimates pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson spent $93.7 million in U.S.-booked air in 2023.
The company’s business travel in 2023 accounted for nearly 291,600 metric tons carbon dioxide equivalent emissions in 2023, an increase of 25 percent compared with 2022. The company has set a goal of net-zero emissions across its value chain by 2045.
J&J in 2023 spun off its consumer health division—which includes such brands as Aveeno, Band-Aid, Listerine, Neutrogena and Tylenol—into a fully independent company, Kenvue. At the end of 2023, J&J reported 134,400 employees globally, compared with 155,800 in 2022. Sales in 2023 increased to $85.2 billion from $80 billion in 2022.
American Express Global Business Travel serves as J&J’s primary travel management company in the U.S., and Amex GBT has worked with J&J along with ECPAT to create a training video for business travelers to identify potential signs of human trafficking.
