2023 U.S.-Booked Air Volume: $30 million 

This is the first time Mayo Clinic has appeared on BTN’s Corporate Travel 100. BTN estimates the Rochester, Minn.-based hospital operator spent $30 million on travel in 2023, putting it on par with several life sciences companies landing in that range this year.  

Mayo Clinic revenue grew from $16.3 billion to $17.9 billion in 2023, based on rising patient volumes. The company brought on more than 14,000 new roles and employed more than 80,000 people by year-end 2023.  

Mayo Clinic in 2022 made a commitment to Better Climate Challenge, making efforts to reduce certain greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent and reducing energy use by 20 percent within 10 years. It is not clear whether this will impact the clinic’s travel intensity.
