Global pharmaceutical giant Novartis spent $29.6 million in 2023 U.S.-originating airfares, according to a BTN estimate. The company maintains more than 30 production locations globally. It employed 76,000 people at the end of 2023, according to its website. However, the company in 2024 and 2025 is looking at a broad restructure. It plans to eliminate 440 development jobs in Switzerland and 240 in the U.S. over that time period. That will include shutting down an office facility in San Diego, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Net sales for the company in 2023 reached $45.3 billion, dropping from over $50 billion in 2022 and more than $51 billion in 2021.
