Pfizer’s 2023 U.S.-booked air volume increased $17.4 million from the prior year. Of that volume, 55 percent was for internal travel and 41 percent was for domestic travel.
Following a full return to office in Q1 of 2023, the company believes it will take several years before its corporate travel returns to pre-pandemic levels. It has pursued access for New Distribution Capability content in 2024 and the pharmaceutical giant
continues its quest to integrate meetings and travel technology and services.

Pfizer is working towards net zero emissions by 2040, including a goal of a 90 percent reduction in Scope 3 emissions compared to 2019.
Pfizer’s travel-related greenhouse gas emissions were 55 percent lower than its 2019 baseline. The company had pledged to reduce its business travel emissions by 25 percent by 2025 from a 2019 baseline.
Pfizer’s business travel activity in 2023 generated
about 173,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, around 11 percent of its overall company emissions. Its business travel emissions in 2023 were almost twice that of 2022, as business travel recovered rapidly, but was less than half of its 2019
baseline figure of3 84,000 metric tons.
