BTN estimates the company in 2023 raised its U.S.-booked air volume significantly.

The financial services company’s 2023 business air travel produced nearly 38,400 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions, compared with about 27,400 metric tons in 2022, an increase of nearly 40 percent.

U.S.-originating air volume has reached about 60 percent of 2019 pre-pandemic volume.

Wells Fargo’s 2023 revenue increased 11 percent year over year to $82.6 billion. Its total employee count was around 225,000 in December 2023, a roughly 5 percent decline from 2022.
